Our take on the Bentley Bentayga
Let's start with acceleration. The quoted 0-60mph time is 3.8 seconds, which is even quicker than what Bentley claims. This is thanks to its W12 4.0-liter engine producing 428 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Most of the torque is available in the lower rpm range, which means the Bentayga can pull in any gear. The W12 engine has a nice grunt at the higher end of the rpm range, making its top speed of 155mph achievable.
Let's talk about handling capability. Simply put, the Bentley Bentayga handles very well. The suspension has different settings, and in dynamic mode, the suspension stiffens up to provide extra grip. Having said that, the steering doesn't provide much feedback from the road, and there's not as much feel as you would get in a BMW. Putting the car into a dynamic mode makes the steering a bit heavier, but still doesn't provide the feel.
The steering is precise, and driving the Bentley Bentayga feels like driving a powerful boat in the way that, whichever way you turn the steering wheel, that's the way the car will go.
