Our take on the Audi S5
Let’s start with acceleration. The quoted 0-60mph time is 4.5 seconds, which is even quicker than what Audi quotes. That’s thanks to its big 3.0-liter engine capacity, producing 349 horsepower and 474 NM of torque. Most of the torque is available in the lower rpm range, which means the S5 pulls in any gear. The S5 engine has a nice grunt at the higher end of the rpm range, making its top speed of 155mph achievable.
Let’s talk about handling capability. Simply put, the Audi S5 handles incredibly well.The suspension has different settings, and in dynamic mode, it stiffens up to provide extra grip.
However, the steering doesn’t offer much feedback from the road, and there’s not as much feel as you’d get in a BMW. Putting the car into dynamic mode makes the steering a bit heavier but still doesn’t provide enough feedback.
The steering is precise, and driving the Audi S5 feels very much like driving a go-kart. Whichever way you turn the steering wheel, that’s the way the car will go.
